Readiness for Change Example…

Susan’s Example 

Susan was a woman who had the goal of losing weight. When she took her

Readiness for Change Assessment, she found she was not ready to work on her

diet. She felt discouraged because she really wanted to lose weight.

In her coaching session, she was reminded that many aspects of life could

support her weight loss goal. So she decided to focus on another area that she

was more ready to change, which was the area of Exercise. She created a

realistic plan of walking her dog 4 times a week for 15-20 minutes. She found

that she enjoyed being outdoors with her dog and this helped her to reduce her

stress, which had often led to overeating. Another benefit of her walking exercise

is that it increased her metabolism.

She also decided to also take small steps in the area of Play and Creativity. By

spending time enjoying her creative activities, she found her hands were busy

and that she was eating less, because she was not sitting in front of the

television mindlessly eating high calorie foods such as potato chips and ice

cream. Without focusing on her diet, she began to lose weight and feel

successful.

Because of this success, ten months later she was ready to make some realistic

changes in her diet, and continuing to meet her goals of losing weight.

It is more effective to work in areas that you are ready and able to change. Since

one aspect of our life affects the whole, having success in one area can translate

to success in another area.

Most people don’t realize that change will only take place when they are ready to make the change, and when they get to this point in their lives change will take place. As a your coach I will help you in this area and if you are in fact ready I will be glad to work with you, but if you are not ready than I see no reason to waste your time as well as mine.

Sometimes we want to make changes in our lives but we have so many things going on that it becomes almost impossible to do until we are able to recognize we have obstacles and self doubting thoughts that need to be eliminated in order to make the necessary changes. Keep the Body Confused

For some time now I have come to realize the more I switch up my workouts the better the results I will get…

I love doing a variety of workouts for the simple fact I hate repetition day in and day out. This works great for my personality type nd so I have a good time doing it. When a person does the same thing over and over you get use to it and eventually you can do it in your sleep. in a lot of areas of our lives this is a great thing but when it comes to growth and human development it is not so great in my opinion.

Todays workout was fun and it was well needed. It involved kick boxing and over all body movement as always. I will do this for a few months and then I will most likely mix it up again by adding weights back into it for added size and strength maybe.

I only say maybe because I want to see how this goes first and if I will actually need it or not. Right now I feel pretty great doing these video workouts. I have a variety of workouts all laid out for me each week and all I have to do is press play and follow along at my own pace. I can even mix it up if there is something I can’t do or might choose not to do I can easily replace it with something similar…

The bottom line is just do it and have fun right?

 

Lower Body

 

Today was lower body day and man did this routine kick my butt! My legs were already tired from the routine I did yesterday with the shoulders…lol

So many people like to just workout the upper body and they forget about the lower when in reality your lower body needs so much attention seeing how it carries you overall load everyday….

So have some fun and do what you can, don’t worry about you what can’t!

How to get Started…

Far too many times we will want to set out to start a new project or take on a new challenge in life and fail long before we even get started…

The reason can be 1 of 1000 excuses or situations that is taking place in our lives when we set out to start something new. Or it could just be as simple as we are not quite ready to do it as much as we think.

I am no different then the next person so it is no secret that I have started a lot of projects or exercise programs and not see it through, maybe the timing was bad or something popped up out the clear blue sky and we have to tend to it first no matter what!

Even if that is the case when you set out to start something new you must label it in a way that no matter what happens or takes place you will follow through with it….

Sure you might have to make some necessary adjustments and you should realize that from the very beginning when you decide to take on a new project or exercise routine. There are a lot of people who lose weight or get fit by taking on some type of workout program or diet fad they find on TV or the internet like this blog and they get all pumped up buy all these great products and within one week they are feeling amazing and then a few weeks into it they miss a day or skip a meal or add a meal that was not meant to be had and the down hill spiral of defeat starts to set in the mind and before you know it a few months have passed by and you have put on more weight that when you started.

That is just part of the process your friends and family will tell you and so the comfort pillow is laid out for you to rest on so as you will feel so much better…

Some of these people are operating businesses all over the world and still find time to exercise, well at least some of them….lol

I have created a new system for getting everything done I need to get done and it is very simply to do and so far so good! As I perfect it more I will eventually share it with everyone else but until then it is just my little secret!

She calls herself the First Lady, First Mom, and the president’s better half.

Now the FLOTUS has a new modus.

Michelle Obama will be the first lady of the White House to release a rap album as part of her Let’s Move! initiative to fight childhood obesity, the Washington Examiner reports.

The album is being released by the Partnership for a Healthier America, an independent group found in conjunction with Let’s Move.

Childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While schools are critical in creating policies and practices that support healthy behaviors in children, it’s not the only factor that can influence a child’s lifestyle. Michelle Obama’s campaign provides community-wide efforts to teach children to eat better and exercise regularly in hopes of eliminating childhood obesity in one generation.

It’s a large feat. But maybe a rap songs like “Veggie Luv” and “Get Up Sit Up” — both of which are on the 19-track album titled, “Songs for a Healthier America” — will provide some good vibrations.

However, there’ll be no solos for Mrs. Obama. She’ll be featured in video cameos, but most of the singing will come from big names like Jordin Sparks, Ashanti, and Run DMC.

Now on another note we know that the President and his Wife know there is a problem in this area and are trying to do something about it, this has nothing to do with politics and if a person likes the current or past president or presidents, it is about rethinking what we are doing to our kids and ourselves!

The reason I started this blog is to do my part and the reason I picked Body FX as my supplement company is because I realize we need to supplement our diets to fuel my body with what it needs. There are a lot of companies out there but for me I like the fact Body FX started with fitness videos and they had tremendous success already and they are devoted to this cause for some time.

They realized they could take it a step further and so they brought some of the best people in the industry on board and took what they already know about nutrition and how the body functions and operates daily then created what are known as ground breaking technology.

I say do your homework and compare apples to apples and see for yourself….

I realize a lot of people feel they can get what their bodies needs in other ways like eating organic, vegetarian, and vegan diets and that is great but if that was the cure than we would NOT be seeing a huge increase when it comes to obesity now would we?

I set my personal preference to the side and focus on what can I do to help others who are in need of help!

I also realize I need to make a living like everyone else and if I was working a regular 9 to 5 job than the amount of time I could devote to this cause would be limited.

My vision is to build a Huge TEAM and join forces to help put a dent in the problem! I realize we can’t fix it by ourselves but we can do our part, and I can do my part one person at a time and one pound at a time…

Instinct Training Day

I love these nice sunny Las Vegas Days, they are so perfect for out door workouts….

I have this great location that kicks your butt every time and best of all it is quick and easy to do. Well easy might not be the exact truth but it is at least fun…

Well it depends on what you consider fun, if you love the heat and a lot of challenges in your workouts then you will love this workout. It involves lost of movement and quick spurts.

If you like box jumps then you will love this location, I like to adventure out early in the morning and get in a cool little workout and mix it up. Afterwards my body is tired and sore but it hits muscles that you normally use and don’t realize it. A lot of the movements and exercises in the gym are really just for looks.

Don’t get me wrong they are great but other than some everyday use the majority of the gym routines are just for looks. Take the bench press, name one thing you do throughout your day that involves laying on your back moving heavy weight up and down off of your chest?

Exactly…

For me I like to be able to move around and feel good about it and so I like to train my everyday body movements and increase my flexibility and strength movements.

I will still workout on the bench and in the gym but I understand the importance of every body functioning. Check this out, I use to be a scaffold setter back in the day.

 

Now the two houses with scaffolding on them is exactly what I use to do everyday with a variety of other jobs as well. If you know anything about scaffolding you will know it is hard work and no two days are the same. You load all the material on a truck than you unload it and set it up on the house, and then on good days you go tear down other houses that have been completed and do it all over again the next day!

The ground is uneven and the sun can be brutal or it can be freezing cold. A good worker carries just the right amount at a time in order to be productive.  I had some tricks that made me really good and fast, it is all about balance, technique and strength backed with endurance…..

Sound familiar?

Now I use to mix it up and make workout for 8 hours a day when I worked and that is why I was good. I mastered the art of scaffold setting and could out work two good guys by myself simply because i love to compete and I was good! No Kidding I was good…

I very seldom worked out in the gym for one thing I just spent 8 hours working out in the real world! lol

A lot of the movements I did today in my workout (Instinct Training) would have been useful to me in this field, why? Because it involves a lot of my everyday movement….

Working out doesn’t have to be boring or hard it can be fun and hard! Challenge yourself not the other people in the gym. You want a challenge then go out and do something no one else will do!

MY Morning Routine..

For the longest now I have been getting up and going for a walk, the reason i do this is simply because it is fun and relaxing for me….

On these walks I use this time in a variety of ways, like reflecting on the day ahead of me or reciting my daily affirmations like Today’s affirmation was…

” I spend money under direct inspiration and I spend it wisely and fearlessly. I know my supply is both endless AND immediate”

You see so many people go about life in a rush all the time and there is nothing wrong with that until you get much older then you realize rushing through life is why you have missed out on so much in the first place and now you are at this age of wondering how life passed you by so quickly…
